Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visiting London for medical reasons only: Nisar

Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan held a press conference on Wednesday in which he clarified that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is visiting London to receive medical treatment only. He made this clarification after allegations were hurled towards the government’s way accusing the PM of visiting London in order to meet people and get his name cleared from the Panama Leaks issue.
During the press conference, Nisar also mentioned that the PM was supposed to visit Turkey as well but due to his health issues, this particular visit also got postponed. It is not clear from which ailment the Prime Minister suffers from-the only fact disclosed to the public is that he is currently unwell and therefore has gone to London for his medical check-ups and treatment.
Meanwhile the Interior Minister also touched upon the Panama Leaks issue during his press conference and again reiterated this fact that the government is willing to get the issue probed through anyone.
“The government is ready to conduct probe by any institution of the opposition’s choosing into the allegations based on Panama Leaks,” he said.
Nisar also said that for the probe, the government contacted senior level judges. The names of these judges are; Justice Nasirul Mulk, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani, Justice Amirul Mulk Mengal, Justice Sahir Ali Abbasi and Justice Tanveer Khan.
“If the government had any intention to constitute a fake commission, why did it contact such senior level judges in the first place,” he added.
Meanwhile the opposition parties are still not convinced about the government’s actions and the PTI chairman, Imran Khan, has announced a protest march to Raiwand demanding the PM’s resignation over the Panama Leaks issue.
