A Japanese man who went on a killing rampage against the disabled people at a care center for the mentally challenged people, reportedly had made his plans known months before the attack.

As details are emerging about the killing spree a day after it took place, it seems that even the parliament was made aware of his evil plans but apparently no one took them seriously.

The suspect, identified as Satoshi Uematsu was seen leaving the police station handcuffed and draped with a blue jacket over his head on Tuesday. When he sat inside the police car and the jacket was lifted from his face, he broadly grinned into the news cameras with which the police car was surrounded.

Uematsu was held at the Tsukui police station after the attack and he was later being transported to prosecutors for questioning. A police officer familiar with the case declined to give the details as it is an ongoing investigation.

Uematsu is charged with breaking into the Tsukui Yamayuri-en care center in the city of Sagamihara where previously he was an employee. He attacked the facility in the early hours of Tuesday morning and stabbed 19 disabled people to death and injuring 26 others.

Emerging details show that Uematsu was fired from the care facility after he told his colleagues that he wanted to kill all disabled people. He was forcefully admitted to a psychiatric hospital after these claims but the doctor discharged him after a while saying that he is not a threat to the society.

Uematsu had previously also delivered a letter to the speaker of the lower house of parliament in which he threatened to kill hundreds of disabled people and even asked for euthanasia of disabled people as “handicapped people only create unhappiness”.

The letter was apparently not taken seriously eventually resulting in such a dreadful episode in the history of Japan.
