A female student at the University of Lahore was allegedly gang-raped by three men and now she has filed a case against the culprits.

According to the details of the case provided, the rape survivor told the police that the prime suspect in this case, named Ishtiaq, is the one who trapped her and eventually it was him who also forced her to abort the resulting pregnancy from the rape. The suspect has been granted pre-arrest bail for a day.

The victim stated in the FIR that she was a student at the English department at the university whereas Ishtiaq was an Engineering student. They both became friends after meeting for the first time on December 10, 2015.

Ten day after their friendship began, Ishtiaq took the girl to his friend named Dr. Riazat Hussain at Ali Hospital in Thokar Niaz Baig, where another man by the name of Shabbir was also present.

Over there she was given a glass of juice which was actually laced with intoxicants and she fell unconscious after drinking it.

Then all three men allegedly gang-raped her while she was unconscious. When she came back to her senses, she realized the horrible truth but by that time the men had left her outside her home.

The rape resulted in pregnancy which can be verified by a scan conducted at Shaukat Khanum Hospital on February 26, 2016. When the victim told this news to Ishtiaq, he promised to marry her. On March 3, the pair went to Ittefaq Hospital where they found out that she was pregnant with twins. Upon learning this, Ishtiaq became nervous and after a few days, he aborted the pregnancy with the help of Dr. Riazat.

The FIR was registered at Lahore’s Chung police station under Section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code. The section suggests punishment of no less than 10 years for rape.

Meanwhile Ishtiaq has pleaded not-guilty and he has been granted a pre-arrest bail for one day.
