Actor George Clooney and wife Amal expecting twins

The internet is abuzz with the good news of George Clooney and Amal expecting their first children later this year. The couple will be parents to not one, but two children as Amal is expecting twins.

The good news of the couple’s pregnancy was delivered by actor Matt Damon, who also happens to be Clooney’s friend. On Thursday, Damon told Entertainment Tonight Canada the great news and he said that he found out about the good news while him and Clooney were filming a movie together last fall. Damon said that he was so thrilled after hearing the news that he ‘almost started crying’.

During the interview, Damon told Entertainment Tonight host that when Clooney, 55, told him the news, his jaw almost dropped. He said that at that time, Amal was eight weeks along in her pregnancy.

“I’m like, ‘Are you out of your mind? Don’t tell anybody else, don’t tell anybody else, I mean, don’t you know the 12-week rule?’ Of course he doesn’t,” Damon said, laughing.

“Then four weeks later, ‘I’m like, ‘We’re good right, we’re good,’ so I’m thrilled for him.”

This is the first pregnancy for the Clooneys, who got married in a lavish Italian wedding ceremony in 2014, after dating for a few months. So far representatives for George and Amal Clooney have not returned reporters’ requests for comments regarding the pregnancy.

Damon praised Amal Clooney, an international human rights lawyer, calling her “a remarkable woman” and saying George Clooney had “hit the jackpot.” He added that the couple were “going to be awesome parents, those kids are lucky.”
