British police arrest second suspect in London train attack

A homemade bomb was detonated on a busy London underground train on Friday, leaving several people injured. As soon as the bomb went off on the busy train, the police cordoned-off the area and investigations began into the bombing.

According to the latest reports, a second suspect has been arrested in relation with the attack. The suspect is a 21-year-old man who was arrested in the west London suburb of Hounslow just before midnight on Saturday. The Metropolitan Police force released information about the arrest and also informed the public that following the arrest, the threat level in the country has been eased from critical to severe.

The suspect has been detained under Britain’s Terrorism Act and was taken to a south London police station, according to a statement released by the police.

Earlier, the police had arrested an 18-year-old man who was connected to the London train bombing and even he was arrested under the Terrorism Act in the southern port area of Dover.

So far it has not been revealed how the police were able to trace these suspects but it has been ascertained that they were linked to the attack.

A home-made bomb was placed on a packed rush-hour commuter train in London on Friday, which went off while the train was full and the carriage erupted in flames. Due to the attack, 29 people were injured and major damage was averted as the bomb did not explode fully.

Some of the people suffered burns while others got injured in a stampede while they were trying to escape the station. Of the injured people, none are in serious condition.
