Punjab University: Seminar on the role of students in the growth of the country

Lahore, November 4: The Punjab University Directorate of Students Affairs organized a seminar at the Faisal Auditorium, at New Campus Lahore. The topic was quite important as it was “Tameer-e-Pakistan Mein Talba Ka Kirdar”.

Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, the Vice Chancellor of University of the Punjab, presided over the seminar. The purpose of the seminar was to enlighten students with the ideological teachings of Islam and the employment of these teachings in the growth of Pakistan.

Prof. Ahmad Rafiq Akhtar, a renowned scholar, was the speaker and he enlightened the students with his thoughts about Islam. He said that it is quite important at the moment to follow the true teachings of Islam in order to avoid the wrong ideologies spread
in the minds of people all over the country.

He also expressed that Islam is a complete and true religion and stressed to find and follow the true spirit of this religion. He also insisted on the need that students need to understand the real teachings of Islam instead of getting their ideas dispersed
with the wrong ideologies spread by wrong people.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhtar, Registrar of Punjab University, Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhary Director Student Affair and many senior staff members were also among the attendants of the seminar.

Ahmad Rafiq also interpreted the meaning of Taswwaf, an important aspect of Islam. He also stressed on an important point that the students need not to indulge in useless controversies regarding Islam. They should also avoid the wrong ideologies and remain
on the right path to promote Islam, which is the need of the hour to put this country on the right track of growth.

In the opening speech of the seminar, the Vice Chancellor said that Prof. Ahmad Rafiq is among those people who have spirituality, a blessing of Allah, on them.

At the end of the seminar, Director Student Affairs Aftikhar Ahmad thanked the participants and guests by expressing that it was a productive programme on a very important topic, as it is the need of the hour to follow Islam with its true spirit and contribute
in the growth of the country.
