ThunderCats Ho! Back with a bang

Warner Bros Animation presents ThunderCats, a remake of 80’s cartoons with a similar name. Reboots of old series like 2002 He-Man, Transformers etc usually sucks but this wasn’t the case for the Thunderians.

The series began with an hour long premier on Cartoon Network on July 29th, 2011 and not only the new generation loved it, old die-hard fans also praised it. It centres on the ThunderCats who for centuries ruled the Kingdom of Thundera. However,
one night the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra (voiced by Robin Atkin Downes) with the help of Grune the Destroyer (voiced by Clancy Brown) and Lizard army infiltrate the kingdom and destroy it. Only a handful of Thunderians survivors managed to flee from Thundera in
order to find the Book of Omens which has all the knowledge including the way to overwhelm Mumm-Ra resilience. Led by the young heir to the throne, Lion-O’s (voiced by Will Friedle) mission is not only to dust away Mumm-Ra for ever but also guard the book
from falling into wrong hands.

Producers Michael Jelenic and Ethan Spaulding planned a 13-episode series that would each follow a different storyline. They sought to portray a more cinematic and darker story prior to their production. Of the new series, Jelenic stated, "The old show felt
more like a Saturday morning animated series and this feels more like a movie."

The new producers have taken some big liberties with the new version, the most notable is completely remaking the original story rather than picking up where the original ended. They capitalised on the new technology and with the help of sharp new animation
and character tweaks, this new version clicked to the old folks along with the new generation. In addition to this, to make the series more appealing, they displayed it more like an actual serialised television series or an epic movie rather than something
meant to babysit your kid.

The music of the series is given by Kevin Kliesch who composed it using a combination of electronics and traditional orchestra.

The new ThunderCats is simply pawsome!!! It’s a must watch for not only ThunderCats fans but for other anime lover also.
