Prosecutors demand four-year prison for the former doctor of late Michael Jackson

After being convicted of involuntary manslaughter earlier this month by overdosing anesthetic propofol which resulted in the death of Michael Jackson, the prosecutors demanded four year’s prison for the former Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray on Wednesday.

Since the ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson died in 2009, the autopsy report addressed one of the major unanswered questions regarding how Michael was treated, especially during the last hours before his death.

The case continued since then when the prosecutors claimed that the death of the megastar was as a result of doctor’s ignorance on treating Jackson well. The defendants gave their opinion however the Los Angeles District Court finally convicted Dr. Conrad
Murray of involuntary manslaughter on 7th November.

Now, the prosecutors seek that Murray should be sentenced four years in prison.

While supporting the four year sentence, the prosecutors argued, "Instead of utilizing his medical knowledge and training to provide Mr. Jackson with proper medical care, the defendant acted as an employee and as a drug dealer and completely corrupted the
trust necessary in a proper doctor-patient relationship,"

On the other hand, the defence attorney of Conrad Murray filed a separate request to convince Los Angeles trial Judge Michael Pastor that his client should receive probation. The defendant that Doctor Murray was very saddened on the death of Michael Jackson
himself and is a broken-hearted man who has not forget the incident that happened to his client.

"Dr. Murray has been described as a changed, grief-stricken man, who walks around under a pail of sadness since the loss of his patient, Mr. Jackson," Defence Lawyer said.

Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley, whose staff prosecuted Michael Jackson’s case, told the media that it is going to be very difficult for the court to decide the appropriate sentence for the incarceration of Doctor Conrad Murray after keeping the
views of both the parties in mind.
