UK singer Olly Murs reveals Robbie Williams’ inspiration behind song writing

British singer Olly Murs has revealed that Take That singer Robbie Williams was his main inspiration when he started writing songs for his second album. The X Factor runner-up from the 2009 season stated that when you write the
lyrics of your songs yourself, there is plenty of emotion behind that. He also revealed that his second album is totally different from what he did the first time around as he does not want to be doing a particular genre.

Olly Murs recently released his second album titled ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ and has been getting rave review about it. The record was released on November 25 and the single ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ debuted at number one on the UK
charts.

Olly claimed that he has surely drawn his inspiration from Robbie Williams to write his own songs. He claimed that he had loved the singer’s work on singles like ‘No Regrets’  and ‘She’s The One’ and admitted that it showed the
true emotional side of the legendary composer.

“That’s why Robbie is one of my idols. I loved when he did ‘No Regrets’ and ‘She’s The One’. Everyone saw a different side to him, not this tough wild child that Robbie was. You can real­ly feel what he was feeling and he inspired
me to get into writing,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

 Murs, who is also hosting the X Factor spin-off show, admitted that he has experimented on a few songs in his new outing as he does not want to be known as an obsolete artist. The singer added that he has a huge responsibility
to live up to the expectations from his fans and he wants to be successful in the coming years.

“With the second album I was trying to make it more mature, and write more for my kind of age. I’m 27 so I’m not a kid anymore. I’ve bought albums in the past where the first album’s been amazing and the second has been a drag.
With mine at least I’ve changed it completely,” he concluded.
