Chose your Powers, Chose your Allies, Chose your Destiny: X-MEN DESTINY

X-Men Destiny is a role playing video games based on the famous X-Men comic book series. Developed by Silicon Knights and published by Activision, the new X-Men game was released on September 27th, 2011 on all major platforms, Playstation 3, Wii,
Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS consoles.

The game follows a rally in San Francisco which might be the last hope for peace between mutants and humans. The rally is held in the memory of the deceased Professor X and the game begins in this rally where the player chooses from one of the three young
mutants, Aimi Yoshida, Grant Alexander and Adrian Luca. These newly created mutants (who are not from the X-Men comic book series and are created solely for the game) are about to discover that they have the power to change the world, and their destiny is
in your hand. The game allows for the player to decide which mutants become X-Men allies and which become their enemies, Brotherhood of Mutants, through choices made in the course of the story.

The much awaited X-Men game also features many established characters from the X-Men universe that make appearances in the game to assist the player in combat or in the competition of the story line. These include Gambit, Cyclops, Emma Frost, Iceman, Wolverine,
Magneto and few others.

X-Men Destiny received mixed to negative reviews with most pointing out the button mashing combat, lack of consequences to choices, and overall lack of polish.

Meta Critic gave the game 50 out of 100 meta score based on mixed and average reviews from 32 critics.

Spaziogames declared it – “There are some good ideas to be found here, but Silicon Knights seem to have lost it along the way. It’s repetitive, unpolished, often boring, definitely not worth your money.”

Game Chronicles stated, “I stopped having "true fun" about halfway through X-Men: Destiny and sadly finished out of obligation and a curiosity to see how the story would unfold. Hopefully, if you’re a bigger fan of the X-Men franchise than I am you’ll have
a better time. Casual gamers should probably skip – this is one for true X-Men aficionados.”

However, Gameinformer gave the game 7 out of 10 and praised the fulfilment of fantasy for mutant lovers the game provides, as well as replay value.

The game is worth playing especially for X-Men fans and super heroes lovers.
