Lost in Translation: A tale of two different people
Lost in Translation is an epic tale of two different people who are strangers to each other. Both of them are experiencing different problems in their lives and soon form a bond with one another. As the things progress further, both realise that their bond
needs to be broken or the consequences could be worse for the duo.
The director and writer of the story is Sofia Coppola while the main cast includes Bill Murray as ‘Bob Harris’, Scarlett Johansson as ‘Charlotte’, Akiko Takeshita as ‘Ms. Kawasaki’, Ryuichiro Baba as ‘Concierge’, Catherine Lambert as ‘Jazz Singer’, Tim Leffman
as ‘Sausalito Guitar’, Giovanni Ribsi as ‘John’, Anna Faris as ‘Kelly’ and Akiko Mono as ‘P Chan’.
Bob Harris is an American film actor, far past his prime. He visits Tokyo to appear in commercials, and he meets Charlotte, the young wife of a visiting photographer.
Bored and weary, Bob and Charlotte make ideal if improbable traveling companions. Charlotte is looking for "her place in life," and Bob is tolerating a mediocre stateside marriage.
Both separately and together, they live the experience of the American in Tokyo. Bob and Charlotte suffer both confusion and hilarity due to the cultural and language differences between themselves and the Japanese.
As the relationship between Bob and Charlotte deepens, they come to the realization that their visits to Japan, and one another, must soon end. A resignation from this fact would end in bitter consequences for the duo of which they are unaware.
Will the two be able to cut down on their meetings or will they have to bear whatever comes their way? Lost in Transition is a perfect showdown for all movie lovers as it is certain to provide the viewers with an exhilarating journey.
