India finally have something to laugh about

The Men in Blue registered their inaugural win of the Australian tour by winning the second T20 of the series by eight wickets. Having lost the first T20 by 31 runs at the Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday, February 01, the onus was on the Indian side to
turn things around and square the series. Mahinder Singh Dhoni’s men showed courage after the first match defeat, and reduced Australia to 131 in less than their allotted 20 overs.

Aaron Finch top scored for the Aussies with 36 runs before being involved in a tragic run out with David Hussey. Four out of the 10 Aussie batsmen were run out, owing to the fact that the Indian fielding, for the first time in the series was spot on. Rahul
Sharma and Praveen Kumar grabbed two wickets each for the Indians.

It took just 19,4 overs for the Indian side to complete an eight-wicket win over the Kangaroos, courtesy, a patient 56 off 60 balls from Gautam Gambhir. No Aussie bowler was able o apply breaks on the opposition scoring rate with only Brad Hogg and Mitchell
Marsh bagging a wicket each for the home side.

However, all the credit of this Indian win went to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was influential on the field, and undoubtedly the best fielder of the evening. The left-armer inflicted two of the four run outs due to his outstanding fielding display to
go along with his one wicket of inform batsman, David Hussey.

This victory will certainly prove to be a perfect tonic for the depleted Indian side ahead of the tri-nation series, starting from Sunday, February 05. Dhoni’s men will definitely look to put things back on track after a disastrous test series, where they
were clean swept by the mighty Aussies.

Australia will take on India in the first match of the tri-nation competition which also involves Srilanka as the third side.
