Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday rejected the possibility of any caretaker setup, saying they would complete their constitutional term mandated by the masses.

“Prime Minister is the strongest man at present. He will neither go upward nor downward and will not go inside or outside”, he said while talking to media in Multan. “I had already said that the Senate polls would take place first and then the budget would be presented”, he remarked.

“Prices of petroleum products had gone up in international market, therefore, they had been enhanced in Pakistan, he claimed. “We are elected representatives and represent the nation”, he added.

The PM said Seraiki province was not his demand but it was demand of the people. Several conspiracies were being hatched against the Seraiki province, he observed.

“Someone says Thal province be created some one says Bahawalpur province be formed. This issue is very vital as Bahawalpur is part of Seraiki province, he added.

Earlier addressing the participants of air university inauguration ceremony the PM said universities were treasures of knowledge and modern knowledge could put the country on the road to progress. “We will have to mould ourselves to international standard. We will have to increase literacy rate, he stressed.

The provincial government was carrying out computer program here and billion of rupees had been provided to the provinces so that students could benefit from modern facility of computer, he pointed out.

Information centre would be set up in every union council to provide employment opportunities to the people, he indicated.

“We will not slap restrictions on media and on the other hand we will give more freedom to it. We have enacted information law for the sake of democracy and media is benefiting from it”, he said.

“We are passing through evolutionary phase and all the institutions will have to work within their ambit. We want to see parliament, judiciary and media stronger and independent. We want to see that all the institutions function within constitutional parameters”, he stated.

“I remained in jail for five years and at present there is no political prisoner in the country. We did not take revenge from any one”, he declared.

The premier stated that they want to strengthen the institutions therefore; they brought 1973 constitution into its original shape.
