President convenes a high level meeting, COAS, DG ISI, Air Chief, PM Gilani and others high ups invited

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has called a high level meeting to discuss issues concerning national security and to mull over resumption of the NATO supplies, learned by sources.

The high profile meeting, besides President and the Prime Minister, was also attended by Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, DG ISI Shuja Pasha, Federal Minister for foreign affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, Foreign Secretary
Salman Bashir and Air Chief Rao Qamar.

Besides the burning issue of resuming NATO supplies, according to the sources, the foreign troops’ departure from Afghanistan was also discussed during the meeting.

The participants of the meeting were also briefed about the matters pertinent to national security and foreign policy of the country.

Sources claim the meeting developed a consensus that only parliament was to decide on resuming with the NATO supplies.
