Karachi death toll rises to 8, city wants to see peace; Wassan
Karachi: (Tuesday, March 27, 2012) Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wassan, in wake of MQM member’s killings, has confirmed that the violence that ensued in the incident has claimed eight lives so far.
Talking to the journalists after attending Pakistan Peoples’ Party’s meeting in Chief Minster House here today, Wassan also confirmed that over 35 vehicles had been torched across the city.
He said violence erupted following tragic incident in PIB colony, adding that Karachiites wanted to see peace. Reacting to the violent protests, the interior minister of the province ordered immediate arrest of the accused involved
in the conspiracy to disrupt peace.
