SDPI organizes memorial reference for Abdul Nasir Khan

ISLAMABDA: (April 9, 2012) Nasir Khan was an inspiring human being as well as a professional. His personality and services will always be remembered. Current and former colleagues, friends, family members and acquaintances of Nasir
Khan remarked this while sharing their memories and feelings about him at a memorial reference organized by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) here on Monday. 

Zia ur Rehman moderated the proceedings of reference and shared a detailed personal and professional account of Nasir Khan who breathed his last on 4 March 2012 due to cardiac arrest. He worked with SDPI for over 14 years managing
its MIS, publications, web and other institutional services.

Dr Abid Qaiyum Suleri said he was an extremely loyal person to the Institute and was equally curious about the welfare of his colleagues. ‘I extend my complete personal and SDPI’s support and cooperation to his family’ he pledged.
Former ambassador Shafqat Kakakhel said his struggle is admirable. ‘He never ignored his duties and responsibilities. The biggest acknowledgment of his work and struggle is we do hard work and deliver the way he desired forever’ he said.

Brig Mohammad Yasin said he knew him for the last 14 years. ‘Nasir has left a vacuum which cannot be filled by any person and professional’ he added. Dr Maleeha said Nasir was a dignified and humble human being. Dr Mahmood A. Khwaja
said his memories, sadness and sense of loss are very high. He was a deep person and had the finest ability of absorbing and handing professional and personal stress.

Col. Qavi Khan said he was one of his closest friends forever. He said Nasir was a wonderful person that he ever met in his life. ‘My heart weeps everyday and I cannot forget him even for a moment’ he said adding he was a decent
person with high moral and character and with extremely cooperative and supportive nature. He said it is a huge loss to SDPI as he was one of the most loyal persons to the Institute.

Shah Farukh said Nasir Khan was a serene person. Talking of his ability of hard work, he said work is important but who works hard is more important. Muhammad Imran said he was an exemplary person among all our colleagues. Maqsood
Jan said I am proud of the times and moments that I spent with him. He was an open-hearted man and his heart was filled with love for everyone who interacted with him.

Zulfiqar Ali recalled that we were not mere colleagues but time-tested friends. ‘I never saw such a polite and humble person ever in my life. He was not an ordinary human being’ he added. Ansar Janjua said he was not only my friend
but brother. His brother, Ilyas Khan, termed his demise as one the biggest loss to their family.

Faisal Gorchani termed him as an incomparable friend and colleague. Shakeel Ramay said Nasir Khan always overcommitted with both the Institute and friends but delivered with complete loyalty and honesty.
