Akshay Kumar admits he is nervous ahead of ‘Rowdy Rathore’

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is best known for his daring action sequences in the films but the ‘Khiladi’ has admitted that he is much nervous ahead of Prabhudheva’s upcoming action film ‘Rowdy Rathore’, which will feature him in the lead role.

Akshay, who has appeared in over a hundred Hindi films, recently had an exclusive interview with the ‘Hindustantimes’ in which he said that he has not done any action film for the last eight years and therefore he is feeling just like a newcomer.

“I feel like a newcomer when it comes to action. I didn’t do it for eight years and I’m starting it all over again now. So I have that newcomer feeling. But I am going to take action to another level with Rowdy Rathore. It is very raw,” said the actor, who has delivered some evergreen action films like ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’, ‘Mohra’, ‘Waqt Hamara Hai’ and ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’ in his career.

The 44-year-old however insisted that he is anxious about returning to the genre of action flicks after a gap since he believes this is something which he does the best.

While speaking on his inclusion, Akshay remarked, he is working day in and day out for the film.

“I am going through a lot of action practice now. You can see my palms (he shows us), the skin is all dead. I am doing it so rigorously because I still have that greed of leaping from one building to another, jumping from a chopper, climbing up on a plane and doing one stunt to another on my own,” said Kumar.

‘Rowdy Rathore’ is remake of a Telugu film ‘Vikramarkudu’ and the film is scheduled to hit the cinemas on June 1, 2012.

Apart from ‘Rowdy Rathore’, Akshay is also participating in ‘Joker’, ‘Special Chabbis’, ‘Khiladi 786’, ‘Hera Pheri 4’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2’.

Well, all said and done, Akshay Kumar has not provided a blockbuster for quite some time now so let’s hope ‘Rowdy Rathore’ brings him back under the main lights once again.
