Arjun Kapoor says he didn’t ask Salman Khan to promote him

Arjun Kapoor locked many headlines in the country lately since it was being said that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan refused to promote his upcoming film ‘Ishaqzaade’, which is being directed by Habib Faisal. However, the actor has insisted that he never asked Salman at all to promote his film.

The 26-year-old Kapoor was signed by Aditya Chopra for a three-film contract with Yash Raj Films and he thinks he doesn’t need anyone’s help to promote his film.

The actor stated people are going to watch his film because it is being made under the banner of Yash Raj Films and he doesn’t need Salman Khan to promote his movie.

“Ishaqzaade is a Yash Raj film. Salmanbhai doesn’t have to promote me. It’s (Yash Raj) a very big company with a reasonable amount of people already knowing about the film whether Salmanbhai tweets about it or not. And it’s something he doesn’t need to do for me,” he insisted.

“The media is saying he (Salman) doesn’t want to (promote me on Twitter), but he wasn’t asked to do it. And no media person would dare ask him about it.

So they are just making assumptions since he has tweeted about other people in the past,” he says. “My producer Aditya Chopra doesn’t believe in that (Twitter).” Arjun said.

“No matter how much I talk about it (his equation with Salman), people aren’t going to watch the film simply because Salman Khan ne isko patla kiya hai. The movie will work on its own,” said the newbie.

‘Ishaqzaade’ was released into the cinemas yesterday and the film is getting a good response from the audiences thus far. The movie has featured Arjun Kapoor in the lead role and Parineeti Chopra, cousin of actor Priyanka Chopra, is playing a role opposite to him.

Well, all said and done, let’s see how much the movie collects by the end of the first weekend.
