India’s very own bong beauty, Bipasha Basu, has insisted that the people overseas love to see Indian actors performing in front of them. Moreover, the actress believes that the Indian cinema has evolved in the past 10 or 11 years and now it has a huge reach.

“It`s (film industry) grown by leaps and bounds. When we travel (abroad), we see how people love to see us perform. They just hang out of their chairs, cheering us and shouting out our names. Reach of the Indian cinema is huge,” Bipasha told reporters “The kind of films is also changing. The audiences are accepting newer films. The hero and scripts have changed and it`s evolving in its own way. But the basic remains the same, we all like to sing and dance,” she added.

The model-turned-actor Bipasha Basu made her Bollywood debut back in 2001 with ‘Ajnabee’ and now she has almost over 50 films to her credit, including some of blockbuster hits like ‘Raaz’, ‘Jism’, ‘Race’, ‘Corporate’ and ‘Lamha’. However, now the 33-year-old is all set for her first Hollywood ride with Roland Joffe’s forthcoming film ‘Singularity’, in which she will play a role opposite to the American superstar Josh Harnett.

Not too long ago there were a lot of noises in the air about ‘Singularity’, as the rumours revolving around suggested that perhaps the film is facing some financial issues and it might not see light of the day. Nevertheless, Bipasha has confirmed there is nothing like this and it is only a matter of time before the film will hit the cinemas.

“Right after the IIFA awards, I fly down to London to shoot my last bit of `Singularity`. We have a winter release. I am very excited because Roland Joffe is a fabulous director and I have got a very strong role in the film.” daily times monitor.

Well, all said and done, let us see if Bipasha’s new avatar is liked by the people or not.
