Former world light-welterweight champion, Amir Khan, will take on the undefeated American prospect Danny Garcia for the WBC title on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and he thinks his fight will not be overshadowed by the controversy of David Haye and Dereck Chisora, who will also fight each other on the same date.

Former WBA heavyweight champion Haye and former British heavyweight champion Chisora locked many headlines in the country after they literally came down to blows in a press conference in Munich. Therefore, many out there eagerly want to see them fighting each other in the ring.

However, Khan, who holds a record of winning 26 of his 28 professional fights (1 no contest), with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, still thinks that his fight should be regarded as the main event on July 14.

Khan recently had an interview with ‘The Daily Star’, in which he expressed his feelings about his fight. The pugilist also talked about Haye-Chisora bout, which will take place at the Upton Park.

He said: “Mine is a world title fight against an unbeaten fighter while the other one isn’t and will be totally one-sided. David is going to easily win and just walk straight through Chisora. I think he’s doing it just to shut him up – and Chisora needs shutting up and throwing out.”

“I don’t think it will take any limelight away from my fight,” he said.

“I apologized for the Peterson fight being cancelled and people losing money on flights and hotels, but I’m sure there will still be a big crowd coming out.

“There’s more interest in the States in my fight than Haye-Chisora definitely, 100%.

“No one’s heard of him there but I’m getting quite well known now.”

Well, all said and done, let’s see if Khan really draws more crowd than Haye.
