Fernanda Gonzalez and Scott Clary win swimming events – Santa Clara International Grand Prix

Fernanda Gonzalez Ramirez and Scott Clary won gold medals of the 200m backstroke in Women and Men’s category at the Santa Clara International Grand Prix.

The 22-year-old Gonzalez Ramirez stayed considerably ahead of her opponents from the start of the event and proved her mettle for gold medal of the event.

With her unstoppable efforts in the event, Gonzalez Ramirez accomplished gold medal of the event with the timing of 2 minutes and 12.33 seconds.

She was chased by Fesenko, who remained 1.37 seconds apart and produced a timing of 2 minutes and 13.70 seconds for second position of the event.

The silver medallist was chased by Madeline J Dirado, who was 1.07 seconds slower and occupied bronze medal of the event with an effort of 2 minutes and 14.77 seconds.

Next was the equivalent event in Men’s corner, where Clary continued his remarkable pace in the final lap and tapped the finishing wall for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 57.90 seconds.

The champion was trailed by Omar Pinzon, who finished second in the 200m event by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 00.49 seconds.

Third position of the event was secured by James A Lendrum of Trojan Swim Club, who posted 2 minutes and 01.26 seconds.

Next was the Women’s 50m freestyle, where Madison Kennedy captured gold medal of the event. The 24-year-old Kennedy lived up to the expectations of her supporters as she snared the title of the discipline with an effort of 25.05 seconds.

Her gold winning effort remained 0.42 seconds faster from Samantha L Woodward, who stepped on the medal rostrum for silver medal with the timing of 25.47 seconds.

Following that, the arena saw gruelling efforts of Lara M Jackson and Liv E Jensen, who tried hard to surpass each other over the finishing end but ended in a joint finish for third position.

The duo remained only 0.04 seconds slower from the silver medallist and posted a time of 25.51 seconds for bronze medal.

Furthermore, the session ended after the completion of all planned events.
