Manny Pacquiao says he is praying for Floyd Mayweather junior

The eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, who currently holds the WBO welterweight championship belt, is the archrival of the five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather junior, who is the current WBC welterweight champion. However, the Filipino star has revealed that right now he is praying for Mayweather as he embarks on the early days of his 87-day jail term.

The undefeated American legend, who holds an incredible record of winning all of his 43 professional fights, including 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, started his sentence in Las Vegas last week after he was pleaded guilty to domestic battery charges.

Mayweather and Pacquiao have been at a war of words for the last many years but Pac-Man has insisted that he is not treating Mayweather as his opponent at this point in time.

“I’m praying for him,” Pacquiao said. “I’m not treating him as my opponent, my enemy or anything. I’m treating him as my friend, my brother. I’m praying for him that all things will be fine for him.”

Mayweather and Pacquiao are both considered as the pound-for-pound fighters in the world. Therefore, almost everyone out there wants to see a fight between these two. Nevertheless, it has not been made as of yet because both parties are not agreeing to each other on the financial terms.

Mayweather agreed to have a fight with Pacquiao but he refused to give him a 50-50 split since he thinks he is the biggest draw in the sport whereas Pacquiao doesn’t agree with him and he believes it is not a fair deal.

“Well, if you are a fighter, would you fight if I give you 40 million and nothing to share in the PPV?” Pacquiao said.

He added, “I would not fight for that. He will be laughing [behind] my back if I do that. It’s not a proper negotiation if you’re a businessman.”

Well, all said and done, Pacquiao has certainly shown a great gesture so let’s see how Mayweather responds to the statement.
