CJ’s son’s involvement in corruption case is a news: Asma Jehangir

Lahore: (Wednesday, June 13, 2012) Former President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jehangir said today that if a businessman gets involved in corruption, it’s a usual thing, however, it makes a real news if the son of
a higher officer, like of Chief Justice, is into corruption.

Talking to the journalists here today, Asma refused to share comments on the issue of Dr Arsalan Iftikhar – son of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry, which is being referred to as Bahria town gate.

However, she was of the view that Malik Riaz was a businessman, and being a businessman, it was not unusual of him to get into corruption matters. She said, “The real question is: why the son of Chief Justice got involved in corruption?”

She was of the view that it makes real news if a son of Chief Justice commits corruption.
