‘Raja Rental’ gets promoted to Premiership

Lamented as one of the most corrupt politicians in the country, it was simply unsurprising when the PPP’s Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was nominated for Prime Minister and subsequently won with a brutal majority.

Pakistan is perhaps the only country in the world where a person fighting a lawsuit in the Supreme Court is named as the ruling de facto. This was the case yesterday, when Raja Pervaiz Ashraf took his oath and settled into his glorious new home overlooking
the majestic Margalla Hills.

For someone who was the butt of jokes around the media last year, it seems like a dream come true but for suffering Pakistanis, it will mean another term full of corruption and deceit with nothing but personal interests valued.

After promising that load shedding would not end indeed in December, the 61-year-old said:

"Our country cannot afford politics of confrontation at this time.”

Yes, as unbelievable as it sounds Pakistanis now have to acknowledge that ‘Raja Rental’ is the Prime Minister and will be residing over the country for some time to come.
