LHC to hear contempt of court petitions against President Zardari

Lahore: (Monday, June 25, 2012) A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear contempt of court petitions against President Asif Ali Zardari. The petitions have been filed for assuming and keeping both the public and party
offices at the same time.

The three member full bench of the court that is to hear the petitions will comprise of Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial along with Justice Ijaz Hasan and Mansoor Ali Shah.

The hearing of the case will begin from June 27. According to the petitions’, in an earlier ruling by the LHC, President Zardari had been stopped from conducting political activity in the presidency. However President Zardari did
not comply with the court order which is why contempt of court proceedings should be initiated against him.
