Amir Khan: Danny Garcia’s father is making me want to knock his son out!

Danny Garcia’s father, Angel Garcia, recently locked many headlines in the country after he started a war of words with Amir Khan. He made several comments about the Bolton man’s ethnicity and religion and while doing all the trash talk he also promised that his son will teach Khan a bitter lesson in the ring.

Khan and Garcia will lock horns on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Brit is currently preparing for the bout with the ‘Hall of Fame’ trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood but in his recent media open workout, he shared his thoughts over the comments from Garcia’s father.

While speaking on his inclusion, the 25-year-old, who is more commonly known as King Khan, stated that he is not worried about any comments at all but Garcia’s father is making him want to knockout his son.

“I don’t really hear about it as much. I don’t really read about it but it’s what people tell me. People tell me about it and stuff but it’s not going to get to me,” Khan told BoxingScene.com.

“It doesn’t really get to me. I let my fists do the talking in the ring and with whatever I’ve heard, I’m going to let Danny Garcia’s father sit in a corner and sweat buckets when I’m going to beat [and hurt] his son. I think he’s putting pressure on his son and he’s making me want to knock his son out”.

Khan, who carries a record of winning 26 of his 28 professional fight (1 no contest), with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, claimed that he has never disliked any of his opponents as of yet but when he simply takes care of the business in the ring.

“I’m respectful; I’ll shake hands with anyone. All my opponents I have shook hands with. That’s the thing about me. I will shake his hand, I don’t mind but like I said – when I’m in the ring I will hurt his son,” promised Khan.
