Danny Garcia: I want to be the best by beating the best

Danny Garcia, the current WBC light welterweight champion, is excited over the opportunity to collide with one of the top names in the division, Amir Khan. In his recent conference call, Garcia came up saying he is the champion and wants to be the best by beating the best.

Garcia junior is scheduled to defend his newly acquired gold against Amir Khan in a 12-round bout, which will also have the vacant WBA world super light welterweight title on the line as well.

The 24-year-old was of the view that his bout with Amir Khan is an excellent opportunity for him to prove he is the owner of the WBC title for a reason – he is the best.

Danny stated, “I knew my division was a tough division with a lot of talent so I never put it past me, but the opportunity came across and I was excited. You’ve got to fight the best to be the best. I’m the champion so the champion’s got to fight the best. I’ve been presented an opportunity and I’m ready to perform.”

Garcia junior, who is coming off a pretty hefty and quite intimidating win over Erik Morales, further added that the bout with Khan is definitely different, adding that Erik was old and bit sluggish but in Amir’s case he is taking on an opponent with speed and power equal to his.

The Philadelphian pinpointed that Khan will succumb to his superior strength, power, and game plan, adding that on July 14 the whole boxing world and especially the Mandalay Bay Resorts & Casino crowd will witness him come out of the ring with two belts round his waist.

Danny stated, “It’s a different fight. I’m fighting a young guy like me with speed and power. Khan says he’s one of the best. I’m the champion. I want to fight the best and we’re going to make our adjustments in the ring, follow the game plan, and come out victorious.”

The bout between two young titans is being keenly observed by almost all the boxing fans and especially analysts not because of the talent the duo possesses but also because several factors are on stake for both pugilists.
