Floyd Mayweather Senior claims he could improve Amir Khan!

The father of undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather junior has said that he would be willing to train former WBA and IBF light welterweight champion Amir Khan, who is currently being handled by Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.

While sharing his thoughts, Floyd senior told Fighthype.com that if Khan comes to him for training he wouldn’t say no to him.

“A dude called me the other day asking if Amir wanted me to train him, what would I do. I told him this is the boxing game, man. I may say some things about the guy, but most of the time, I feel like I can change them,” said Floyd Sr.

The Bolton man, who is more commonly known as King Khan, suffered a fourth round stoppage against Danny Garcia last Saturday, in a fight in which he was a heavy favorite and Floyd senior believes it all happened because of Roach.

While speaking on his inclusion, Floyd senior stated that Roach was never a good defensive fighter during his time so how can he teach someone else about defence.

“Well, like I’ve told you before, and this isn’t even taking a shot at Roach, but you can’t teach what you’ve never had. He was never a good defensive fighter, so how can he teach someone to be one?” Floyd Sr. said.

In the meanwhile, the American outspoken trainer also shared his thoughts on a possible clash between his son and the Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.

A clash between Pacquiao and Mayweather junior is one of the most eagerly anticipated clashes out there but their fight has not been made as of yet. However, Floyd senior reckons it will his son’s night if Pacquiao ever meets him.

“All he got is coming straight forward, and that’s why Pacquiao knows what he’s going to get when they fight Floyd!”

Well, all said and done, Amir Khan is already pondering over his relationship with Freddie Roach these days. So let’s see if he start training with Floyd senior from now onwards.
