Amir Khan: Freddie Roach is a great trainer, I’m taking the blame!

Amir Khan lost his WBA light welterweight title to Danny Garcia last Saturday after the American stopped him in the fourth round at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and rumours revolving around suggested as if Khan is now pondering over his relationship with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.

However, the Bolton man, who is more commonly known as King Khan, has rubbished all rumours. Khan has insisted that he is pretty happy with Roach and has no plans to go to anyone else.

The 25-year-old, who now has a record of winning 26 of his 29 professional fights, with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, was knocked down three times before the referee came in and stopped the fight.

While speaking on his inclusion, the Brit stated that it was all his mistake and he will now improve.

Nevertheless, Khan seemed a bit conflicted about Roach since after saying he is happy with him, he turned around and remarked he wants things changed.

Khan told Sky Sports News “Freddie’s a great trainer. I’m taking the blame. It was my fault…I was the one in the ring. I’m the one making mistakes…I’m going to look at my options, sit down with my team this week. A the moment I’m happy with Freddie, there are a few things that I want to change…see where I need to improve and see if Freddie can improve me in those departments.”

Freddie Roach, who is one of the most well known boxing trainers in the world, also trains the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao along with Khan and this is apparently the biggest problem for Khan because he recently said that he wants someone who could give him full time.

Well, all said and done, let’s see how Freddie Roach and Amir Khan settle their differences.
