Bernard Boente: David Haye-Vitali Klitschko in the pipeline for March!

Bernard Boente, who manages both Klitschko brothers, has said that former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye can set up a potential fight with the current WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko next year in March, provided Vitali’s political career flops.

The 31-year-old brash Londoner, who is more commonly known as the Hayemaker, became the first man ever to knockout Dereck Chisora in the ring earlier this month and since then he is after Vitali, who is set to face Manuel Charr on September 8 at the Olympic Indoor Arena in Moscow, Central Federal District.

Vitali has plans to join politics in October this year but Boente thinks he will fight Haye, if he doesn’t win the elections.

“Vitali meets Manuel Charr in September and then goes on the political campaign trail at the Ukraine elections, which are held in October,” he said.

“He has to win his fight and then see the outcome of the elections. Then Vitali must decide what to do if he is not elected into a certain position. There is still a chance the fight will come, but not this year. It will probably be in England on pay-per-view next year, possibly in March.”

Haye suffered a twelve-round unanimous defeat last year at the hands of Vitali’s younger brother Wladimir Klitschko, who is the current WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO & The Ring heavyweight champion.

The Brit desperately wanted a rematch with the Ukrainian in order to avenge his defeat but he was refused by Wladimir, which forced him to walk away from the sport.

Although Haye now wants to fight Vitali, Boente feels a rematch with Wladimir would not be discounted going forward.

The manager insisted that everything is in Haye’s hands and they are waiting for his call.

“I will not exclude anything. I have learnt from past dealings that you can’t rely on anything he [Haye] says or does. He is like a fish in water – you can’t catch him. It’s all in Haye’s hands. Whatever he wants, he just needs to approach us.”

Well, David Haye’s fight with Vitali or Wladimir will certainly be a big one but let’s see who fights Haye.
