NAB summons Malik Riaz to record his statement on July 30

Islamabad: (Saturday, July 28, 2012) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Malik Riaz on Monday, July 30, to record his statement in the Arsalan Iftikhar-Malik Riaz case.

On Supreme Court’s direction, a joint investigation team (JIT) of NAB is probing into the matter and at the first step; it is recording statements of all the key characters involved into the issue.

According to the sources, Malik Riaz, the main character in the case, has been sent a formal legal notice to appear before the investigation team.

Malik Riaz, who is believed to be the protagonists of this case, had lately tried to take some more time so that he could collect more solid evidences against Arsalan Iftikhar. However, the authorities had rejected his plea in
this regard and asked him to appear before the court on mentioned date.

The joint investigation team has also decided to record Malik Riaz’s son in law, Salman Ahmed’s statement, who also is believed to be one of the main characters in the case.
