Nawaz’s son in law’s party memberships suspended

Lahore: (Saturday, July 28, 2012) Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) General Secretary Iqbal Zafar Jhagara has suspended party membership of the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s son in law and President of the PML-N Youth Wing, Captain
(Retd) Safdar.

According to the sources, the decision has been taken on directives of the PML-N president Nawaz Sharif.

In this regard, the party’s general secretary has also issued him a show cause notice and has alleged him of giving indecent statements against some senior party members which lead to creating grouping within the party.

It is worth mentioning over here that in one of his addresses, Safdar had nominated Ameer Maqam’s name as president of the PML-N Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter and had criticized Mehtab Abbasi and pir Sabir Shah.

Safdar has been given ten days to submit his response to the show cause notice.
