Ranomi Kromowidjojo and Michael Phelps occupy gold medals – London Olympic Games

Ranomi Kromowidjojo and Michael Phelps occupied gold medals of Women’s 50m freestyle and Men’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) respectively at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Kromowidjojo remained half body length faster from her foregoing finisher as she showed her urgency towards the finishing blockade with the timing of 53.00 seconds.

Her title claiming effort remained 0.38 seconds faster from Aliaksandra Herasimenia of Belarus, who followed her on the medal rostrum for bronze medal by producing a time of 53.38 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Yi Tang of China, who remained only 0.06 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and touched the finishing blockade with the timing of 53.44 seconds.

Similarly, Tang was chased by Melanie Schlanger of Australia, who remained just 0.03 seconds slower from overpowering her and settled on the finishing wall as fourth fastest swimmer with the timing of 53.47 seconds.

Fifth fastest spot of the discipline was secured by Missy Franklin of USA, who suffered a loss of 0.17 seconds from her foregoing finisher and produced an effort of 53.64 seconds.

Afterwards, Phelps won the title of Men’s 200m IM. He gained a slight lead over his opponents in the first lap and continued his supremacy throughout the discipline, making his way to the victory stand for gold medal with an effort of 1 minute and 54.27
seconds.

His gold winning effort remained 0.63 seconds ahead of the world record holder and his teammate, Ryan Lochte, who finished second in the discipline by clocking a time of 1 minute and 54.90 seconds.

Lochte was traced by Laszlo Cseh of Hungary, who remained 1.32 seconds apart and proved his mettle for bronze medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 56.22 seconds.

The bronze medallist was followed by Thiago Pereira of Brazil, who stayed almost half a second behind and settled on the finishing wall as fourth fastest swimmer with the timing of 1 minute and 56.74 seconds.

In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades at the prize ceremony of the event.
