Kierra Smith and Akihiro Yamaguchi win swimming titles – Junior Pan Pacific Championships

Kierra Smith and Akihiro Yamaguchi won gold medals of 100m breaststroke in Women and Men’s corner at the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships.

With her stupendous efforts, Smith managed to outperform her following swimmer over the finishing wall and captured gold medal with a timing of 1 minute and 08.54 seconds.

Her title claiming effort remained 0.01 seconds faster from Mariya Chekanovych, who secured silver medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 08.55 seconds.

Chekanovych was chased by Miku Kanasashi, who remained 0.08 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and pocketed bronze medal of the event by submitting a time of 1 minute and 08.63 seconds.

The bronze medallist was followed by Annie Zhu, who stayed only 0.21 seconds slower from her former swimmer and hit the wall for fourth position by clocking a time of 1 minute and 08.84 seconds.

On the other hand, Yamaguchi occupied gold medal of the equivalent event in Men’s corner. Remained dominant over his opponents from the start and posted a time of 59.85 for gold medal.

His scintillating pace was followed by Kazuki Kohinata, who remained nearly two and a half body lengths apart and secured silver medal of the event by reporting a time of 1 minute and 02.45 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Buster Sykes, who remained nearly one body length behind and ended third in the event with an effort of 1 minute and 03.32 seconds.

Fourth finest spot of the race was obtained by Jonathan Naisby, who stayed just 0.03 seconds slower form the bronze medallist and hit the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 03.35 seconds.

Naisby was traced by Eric Ronda, who suffered a loss of 0.17 seconds from his foregoing finisher and posted a time of 1 minute and 03.52 seconds for fifth position.

Furthermore, the arena appreciated laudable efforts of all participants in their respective events while the position holders received medals and accolades for their notables at the victory ceremony after the session.
