Raveena Tandon all set to play a cougar in ‘Shobhana 7 Nights’

Bollywood diva Raveena Tandon stayed away from the silver screen for almost five years but she is now making a comeback with Sudipto Chattopadhyaya’s forthcoming film ‘Shobhana 7 Nights’, in which she is going to play a cougar’s role.

‘Shobhana 7 Nights’ revolves around how high society socialites in Mumbai pick up toy boys and hunks from coffee shops for their sexual fantasies.

While sharing thought about the film, Raveena insisted that she was surprised when she initially came to know about her role.

She said, “I was shocked when director Sudipto Chattopadhay told me that something like this exists. We have seen and heard this in films, but I was shocked to see it when Sudipto asked me to accompany him to a coffee shop. I wore a burkha to conceal my identity.”

The 40-year-old said she can’t pass any judgements on the matter as it is very sensitive.

“The reason can be anything — a failed marriage, bored housewives or anything,” she added.

Raveena was also asked if she is planning to compete Vidya Balan, who created wonders at the box office with her magnificent performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’ last year.

“Vidya did a daring job and I don’t have the guts to do a role like that,” she remarked.

In the end, the rare B’town beauty revealed the main reason why she agreed for the film. The actress stated she knows she cannot compete the likes of Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra at this point in time. She said her role must suit her age.

She said, “I am choosing my projects with caution. They have to suit my age. I am not demented to think I can carry off what a Kareena or Priyanka can do. So, while I will be looking to play a lead, the script should do justice to my age.”

Well, all said and done, Raveena Tandon certainly has a huge fan following in the country. So let’s see how good she performs in the movie, in which she will be seen with the likes of Rohit Roy and new comer Amit Purohit.
