Kenneth To and Daryna Zevina secure gold medals – FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup

Kenneth To and Daryna Zevina secured gold medals of Men’s 100m Individual Medley (IM) and Women’s 200m backstroke respectively at the 2012 FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup.

To stayed marginally ahead of his closest swimmer and ensured his place on top of the victory stand for gold medal by producing a time of 51.58 seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by George Bovell, who stayed 0.29 seconds behind and emerged on the finishing end for second position by submitting a time of 51.87 seconds.

The silver medallist was traced by Darian Townsend, who stayed one body length behind and made his way to the finishing blockade for bronze medal by producing an effort of 52.76 seconds.

Townsend was trailed by Kosuke Hagino, who remained only 0.10 seconds slower from overpowering his foregoing finisher and surfaced on the finishing end as fourth fastest finisher by producing an effort of 52.86 seconds.

Fifth finest spot of the race was secured by Tommaso D’Orsogna, who stayed 0.27 seconds away from his former finisher and settled on the wall with a timing of 53.13 seconds.

Afterwards, Zevina earned the title of Women’s 200m backstroke. Zevina remained in a lead of two body lengths over her strongest challenger and made her way to the finishing block for gold medal by producing a wonderful effort of 2 minutes and 02.99 seconds.

The champion was followed by Melissa Ingram, who stayed 1.96 seconds behind and emerged on the finishing end as second best finisher by clocking a nice effort of 2 minutes and 04.95 seconds.

Ingram was chased by Katinka Hosszu, who stayed 2.59 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall for bronze medal by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 07.54 seconds.

Mensing remained 0.91 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and emerged on the finishing end for fourth position by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 08.45 seconds.

Fourth best finisher was traced by Zsuzsanna Jakabos, who remained 1.51 seconds behind and sprinted her way towards the wall for fifth position by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 09.96 seconds.
