Govt to speed up pace of socio-economic development in Balochistan: PM Ashraf

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the Federal Government has prioritized the ongoing development projects initiated in Balochistan to speed up the pace of socio-economic development and improve the standard of living of the people of the province.

While talking to Minister for Privatization‚ Jam Muhammad Yousaf, the premier directed him to focus on the projects which are near completion so that their benefits started reaching the people. He also urged him to personally monitor the development activities in his area in order to ensure their timely completion.

Jam Yousaf praised the Prime Minister for his personal attention on Balochistan and expressed the view that the measures taken by the Federal Government would go a long way in laying a foundation for sustainable development in Balochistan.

The Prime Minister said that the present democratic government led by Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) implemented programmes like Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to address the issues of poverty and unemployment.

He emphasized that the PPP-led coalition government is committed to serve the people and work for their welfare.
