Arsenal Tactician, Arsene Wenger believes that Gunners defensive skills led to an impressive 2-0 victory against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday night.

Arsenal spectacular skills led them take the lead after three minutes when Olivier Giroud netted the goal. They squandered many chances after that but managed to save all the attacks by last year’s runner-up side. In the 86^th minute Koscielny led Arsenal 2-0 up and close towards progressing into the quarter-finals. They failed to score another goal and exited from this major tournament due to less away goals. However, they managed to overpower the team who is currently top-scoring team at this tournament.

The Frenchman was really happy for what his side showed at the Allianz Arena. He is now eyeing that Arsenal keep this form into the remaining ten match at the Barclays English Premier League. By this they will be able to secure a spot in the top four and thus able to compete in next year’s Champions League.

“If you just consider the night, you can only be proud of the performance of the players,” the Gunners’ boss was quoted in an interview to the Arsenal Player. “If you consider the two legs, of course it’s disappointing because we’ve gone out and paid a heavy price for the goals we conceded at home. I believe that last night we played with determination, authority and cohesion. We won a big game. Let’s be inspired by that for the rest of the season. We showed more authority in the duels. We were more on the front foot and less on the back foot.”

Arsenal will face off Swansea City in their next Premier League match.
