Carl Jenkinson praises Nacho Monreal after his first goal – Football News

Arsenal defender, Carl Jenkinson, praised his teammate Nacho Monreal after he scored his first goal for the Gunners at the Stadium of Liberty on Saturday. He fired his maiden goal for Arsenal 16 minutes to the stoppage time against the Swansea City last weekend.

The Gunners recorded a vital victory against the Swansea City at the English Barclays Premier League last Saturday. Monreal scored the opener for Arsenal and broke the deadlock. He raised his team members’ confidence with this important goal.

Later in the game, Gervinho doubled the lead in the injury time after netting the goal. As a result, Arsenal secured a convincing victory against the Swansea City.

Monreal signed up for Arsenal in the January transfer window and since then has been impressive.

The Arsenal defender, Jenkinson reflected about the Nacho Man in an interview to the Arsenal Player:

“I’m a big fan [of Monreal] to be fair. It was really important he got our first goal. We needed that. Then it was about keeping it tight at the back and Gerv went and got the second one. It turned out fantastically in the end. It’s a huge win. We were buzzing in the changing room because this is a hard place to come to and get a win. I’m delighted and so are the boys, and so we should be. We’ve come here and won 2-0. It’s not easy at Swansea. They’re a good team. They’re good on the ball. They can pass it and we’re over the moon with the win. It was thoroughly deserved.”

Arsenal will square off against Reading at the Emirates Stadium. They are currently standing at fifth position at the English Premier League. They are fighting for a spot in the top four in order to qualify for next year’s Champions League.
