Arsene Wenger praises young Gunners performance at the NextGen Series – Football News

Arsene Wenger admires the Arsenal under 19’s performance at NextGen Series where they have reached semi-finals. He believes that young Gunners will make a mark on the first team.

The Arsenal under-19 side displayed brilliant skills at this under-19 tournament. They managed to create many chances and showed great defensive skills. Serge Gnabry founded a chance in the fifth minute but squandered. The opening half went goal less with both sides finding a breakthrough.

In the 56^th minute, Gnabry netted the only goal of the match and led the terry Burton’s team to glory. The German forward played a one-two with Hector Bellerin before scoring this spectacular goal.

The Frenchman commented in an interview to the Arsenal Player:

“First of all it’s strange that in the Champions League there is no English team in the quarter-finals but in the NextGen there are three in the semi-finals from England. It is amazing and unpredictable – at the start of the season you couldn’t predict that at all. We’ve always found the resources to do something special and that’s what I like in this team – they don’t give up, they keep going and above all there are two, three or four players who I think have a chance to play for Arsenal. That is most important.”

Arsenal under-19 team is coming off showing superb skills throughout the tournament. They outclassed last year’s champions Inter Milan in the last 16 before setting up this clash. Nico Yennaris scored the only goal in the match against Inter Milan.

Next in queue for Arsenal youngsters are their local rivals, Chelsea, in the semi-finals. They will take on Blues at Lake Como for a chance to go into the finals.
