Aamir Atlas crowned new Asian Champion

Aamir Atlas of Pakistan won the final of 17th Asian Individual Squash Championship by defeating Abdullah Al-Mezayne of Kuwait in Islamabad on Sunday.
He won the final with game score of 11/9‚ 11/3‚ 11/8‚ in a one-sided match.
In the ladies final Annie Au of Hong Kong beat Low Wee Wern of Malaysia with the game score of 5/11‚ 11/8‚ 11/7‚ 11/1 and won the championship.
Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt‚ who is also president of Pakistan Squash Federation awarded prizes and trophies among the winners of the championship.
The President and the Prime Minister have congratulated Amir Atlas on winning the prestigious title.
In their separate messages‚ they said that “we are proud of Aamir Atlas’s performance and hoped that he will also bring laurels for the country in future”.
The tournament was jointly organized by Punjab Squash Association and FMC.
Top ranking players from 9 countries participated in the tournament.
