SC reserves verdict in Musharraf’s high treason case

The Supreme Court on Thursday reserved verdict about the beginning of high treason case against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.

 

Earlier Attorney General Munir A. Malik informed the Supreme Court that an investigation team will be constituted shortly to probe emergency promulgated by former President Pervez Musharraf on 3 November 2007.

 

He made the submission before a three- member bench of the Supreme Court hearing a petition seeking registration of treason case against Pervez Musharraf.

 

The Attorney General said the Prime Minister has issued necessary directives to the Interior Secretary to constitute an investigation team.

He said a commission will also be set up to oversee the entire investigation process.

The Supreme Court is hearing the petitions challenging detention of judges under the emergency order.
