PM invites Chinese company to launch power projects in Pakistan

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Saturday invited China’s Gezhouba company to launch more power projects in Pakistan.

Talking to the President of the company‚ who called on him on board the bullet train by which he was going from Beijing to Shanghai to attend an energy conference ‚ he said the government will provide every possible facility to Chinese companies.

Gezhouba President apprised the Prime Minister that his company is working on Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project‚ which will be completed in 2016.

The chief executives of China Engineering Corporation and Huawei Technologies also had meetings with the Prime Minister on board the train.

Nawaz Sharif asked the China Engineering Corporation to help Pakistan convert furnace oil power projects on coal.

He also invited the Chinese company to set up 1000 megawatts power plant in Jamshoro in Sindh province.

President of Huawei company also called on the Prime Minister and informed him that his company has so far trained 4‚000 Pakistani engineers in various disciplines.

The Prime Minister asked the company president to launch more projects in Pakistan and the government will provide all necessary facilities to it.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif‚ who is on his first foreign tour in China, arrived in Shanghai from Beijing on Saturday morning by bullet train. He will attend energy conference there.

The bullet train between Beijing and Shanghai covers 1318 kilometers distance between Beijing and Shanghai in 4:48 hours traveling at a speed of 310 kilometers per hour.

There are 24 tunnels and 244 bridges on the line. The biggest railway bridge is also situated on the same route.
