An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Quetta Monday ordered production of former military president Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf, in the Akbar Bugti murder case, on September 10.

Akbar Khan Bugti was killed on August 26, 2006 during a military operation during Musharraf’s military rule.

Musharraf is the main accused in the case.

ATC judge Ismail Baloch, who issued Musharraf’s production order while hearing the case, also expressed disappointment at the failure of the team investigating Bugti’s murder to produce Musharraf for the hearing.

The ATC once again issued arrest warrants for former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former Balochistan governor Owais Ahmed Ghani, former deputy commissioner of Dera Bugti Abdul Samad Lasi in the case. They had been nominated in the murder of the Nawab Akabr Bugti.

The court ordered the authorities to produce the accused on September 10.

Musharraf also faces cases of the 2007 assassination of Benazir Bhutto, Lal Masjid operation and keeping senior judges in illegal detention when he had imposed emergency rule during 2007.
