All Parties Conference to discuss Taliban talks

The All Parties Conference (APC) convened to devise a comprehensive strategy for overcoming terrorism will be held in Islamabad later on Monday.

All major political parties have accepted the invitation to participate in the conference, Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan says.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who will chair the APC, will deliver his speech.

Director General ISI, Lt. Gen. Zaheeer-ul-Islam  will brief the meeting on security situation.

The Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani will also apprise the political leadership of overall security situation in the country. After that political leaders will express their views on the issue.

Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan said the government is making efforts to bring peace to the country and the political leadership is fully cooperating with it as they were cooperated on Karachi law and order issue.

He expressed the hope that a consensus resolution will be adopted at the end of the conference which will give a roadmap to the Government as to how it should move forward to overcome terrorism and establish peace in the country.

The conference will discuss the possibility of talks with the Taliban.

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan says he will present four point agenda in the APC. He will ask the gov’t to abandon the US war on terror and hold talks with Taliban.
