Rain delays England’s tour match

For the second consecutive day rain was the reason why the match between Australia A and England could not move forward. The four-day tour between the two countries has only seen one day of cricket being played. During this session England were the ones who decided to bat first as Australia A were to bowl. The match seemed to be one-sided as England were tormenting Australia A.

The only two players have been on the pitch are the English captain, Alastair Cook and the second opener, Michael Carberry.

Cook has so far scored a stunning 154 while Carberry is giving him a healthy opening partnership as he has scored 153. The overall score for England is 318 with only a single run from extras.

The first day saw the score reach 318 but the second day was wasted due to heavy rainfall. The third day yet again saw no action as both the teams had to settle at home due to the amount of rain which was slowing the outfield.

The four-day tour is expected to come to an end with England being the only batting side while Australia A haven’t shown any promise so far.
