PM meets with UAE President and Emphasizes on Importance of Brotherly Ties
Wednesday, January 1st, 2014 2:17:07 by Hunain NaseerPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif had a meeting with Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday when the UAE President visited Pakistan.
The UAE President and the ruler of Abu Dhabi is here on a private visit and during the meeting, the Pakistan PM emphasized the importance of ties between the two countries and extending cooperation in other areas as well.
The meeting was reportedly brief, as the two leaders discussed bilateral ties and discussed areas of mutual interest. The Pakistan PM congratulated the UAE President ahead of the 2020 Expo, which will be held in Dubai.
“It is a matter of great pride for Pakistan that Dubai has been chosen to host the Expo 2020, and it would enhance the image of the whole region. Dubai has been rightfully picked by the world community for the prestigious exhibition,” said Nawaz Sharif.
Nawaz Sharif’s brother and the Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was also in the meeting and spoke about the improving trade relations between the two countries. He said that UAE’s investment in the country showed their trust in the economic environment of Pakistan.
According to the PM, Pakistan can meet the human resource requirements of the UAE with more than 1.25 million citizens already working in the Emirates.
