Special Court to Indict Musharraf of Treason Today

Sources in Islamabad claim that the Special Court, which was required to give a final verdict on the case of General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, is going to indict the former president for treason today.

Pervez Musharraf was responsible for kicking out Nawaz Sharif’s previous government as he came into presidency through a military coup. Now he is being charged for high treason and a three-member court, led by Justice Faisal Arab alongside Tahira Safdar and Yawar Ali, are going to give a final verdict on the matter. Friday is the day which they claim to be the day for a final decision.

Justice Faisal Arab claimed that the order pertaining to production of the accused remained intact.

Once Pervez Mushrraf is in court, he is going to be indicted for high treason as he abrogated the constitution as he proclaimed emergency back in November 2007.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, the interior minister is working on high security as Musharraf will make his way in and out of the court. Several law enforcing agencies are now alert on the matter and will be focusing on his security.

Reports claim that in the most recent meetings, the Islamabad Police and Law Enforcing Agencies made a final plan to protect the former leader of Pakistan.
