ECNEC Approves Metro Bus Project

It was recently reported from Islamabad that the Executive Committee of National Economic Council has approved on Saturday that the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project is going to commence soon. The total budget for only the Islamabad area is 23.839PKR billion.

Sources claim that this project will be backed by two parties:  the Federal Government and the Punjab Government. 13.419PKR billion will be paid by the federal government. On the other hand, 10.419PKR billion will be chipped in by the Punjab Government.

The ECNEC met up with the finance minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, in the Prime Minister Office. Both the parties thoroughly ran through the feasibility of the metro bus project and it was finally approved. They also talked about the environmental impact which will take place due to the construction of this particular project.

It is being claimed by the Pakistani government that the Metro Bus is going to be a world class project/facility that is going to help provide extraordinary transportation services to the people commuting in the twin cities.

Moreover, the Peshawar Morh interchange is now going to go through certain changes. While some people are against the overall project, others claim that it will help several others to sort there problems out altogether.
