Naples - Fiorentina

Italian football Saturday became again a hostage of the most violent fans, both inside and outside the stadiums. In the weeks before the final of the Italian Cup between Fiorentina and Napoli (1-3 for Benitez) several fans were injured, one of them very serious in the chest after receiving a gun shot, a walker was viciously beaten for no apparent reason and clashes between supporters of both clubs and the police were consistent. But then, since inside the Olympic stadium in Rome and in the presence of the highest authorities of the nation, the situation shot towards the irrational: Marek Hamsik Captain of Naples, went to the northern corner of the stadium to negotiate with the leaders of the most radical fans to start of the final. The guy who, perched on a fence, decided that yes, it could give the final start, wearing a black shirt with the legend: “free Speziale “. Speziale is the surname of one of the two convicted for the murder of police inspector Filippo Raciti after the match between Catania and Palermo on February 2, 2007.

Prior to the final of the Italian Cup between Fiorentina and Napoli were stained with blood when, around the Olympic stadium in Rome, were groups of young men armed with batons and with his face covered by helmets and balaclavas hours. One of the supporters of the Naples wounded was a 43-year -old, off duty policeman. Passing the Tor di Quinto neighborhood – in the north of the city, his car was surrounded by a violent group. The agent was wounded in the hand and his passenger, 30, in the chest. An ambulance took him to the Villa San Pietro hospital in critical condition. The information, though very confusing, speak at least one more wounded by gunshots. The police, who found a gun in a nearby garden, does not rule out any theory, including that the shooting could have occurred for reasons beyond the Cup final.  Witnesses said the attackers spoke with Roman accent, which in principle would help to rule out that they were followers of Fiorentina.

Pietro Grasso, Senate president and former chief prosecutor of the struggle against the Mafia, wrote on his Twitter account: “I’m going to the Olympic for Fiorentina -Napoli. Clashes with serious injuries. These are not fans, but criminals. ” Authorities also reported a number of skirmishes between supporters of the two teams at gas stations and streets around the Olympic, but also along the Milvian Bridge altercations starring Roma ultras infiltrated wanting ruckus among foreign fans.

Also next to the bridge of Music, two large groups of followers of Naples and Fiorentina were challenged to clean petardazo. Each other, masked and armed with sticks, then lashed out the riot police who tried to make peace. The images distributed by the Italian media are proof of the great violence of the encounters and how some plainclothes agents – but covered with blue – regulatory helmets had no choice but to retreat to the fury of the fans. For the hiker who was also injured, authorities reported that his life was not in danger, even though he had broken legs and a head trauma.

The game started 45 minutes late on the clock and shame in the face of many fans after watching how the captain of Naples had to ask the permission of the head of the ultras to start the game. Not the first time it happens, and that makes it even more disturbing. In 2004, the mafia coercion of fans managed to suspend a derby between Roma and Lazio; in 2008, the authorities were forced to travel free to invite 1,500 fans Naples who had taken a train to Rome; and, last November, fans of Nocerina a third division of the region of Campania, forced his players to be let loose against arch-rivals Salernitana in protest because the authorities had banned the presence of hooligans at the stadium. No wonder, then, that after watching the sad spectacle of captain Naples and law enforcement entrusted to ultra perched on the fence, an amateur hung his photo on Twitter under a black legend and bitter humor: ” The new interior minister “.
